After a rainstorm, it was difficult to navigate the flooded roads in the outskirts of Tucson, by accident we found a road that lead to this magnificent scene. The late afternoon sun hadn't arrived but the colors of Purple and green seemed so spiritual that I left it as I saw it The peace of that setting just made this plein air painting outing a spiritual experience. Hours later, the Saguaro cacti were lined in golden light and the mountains ablaze.

After 30 years as a successful business woman, Maria Hunt, finding the nest empty, and having fulfilled her role as financial contributor, retired to the Palm Springs area, pursuing her childhood dream of studying and creating art.
