While on a painting retreat south of Seattle, with perfect weather, a picnic lunch, and clear skies, a friend and I set out to paint Mt. Rainier reflected in a large lake, surrounded by evergreens. With my first painting finished, I had 30 minutes to spend while she finished her larger painting.. I painted the second version of the same mountain scene. Picnic by the lake is the smaller, second painting. I figure if I do it one more time, I might just master those reflections.
