Description
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16
This image is a small portion of a 36 x36 painting of the Birth of Christ and was used to create this Christmas wish for friends and family. This small portion was inspired by a intense painting by Charlie Roman, of Ponce, Puerto Rico. His intimate portrait of the Holy Family touched my heart, and with his permission, I have used his concept of intimacy in the portrayal of the birth of Christ.
The larger painting is part of three paintings that tell the Christmas story. Another 3 paintings were created by a dear friend, Diane McClary, that deals with the Star in the night sky, the Shepherds in the field, and the coming of the 3 wise men from the East A beautiful story told by changing out the paintings . this will be the 2nd year that the paintings are part of our Advent season in our church.
