I so loved the colors of this peony, I recreated it as a rose on another painting.. These were created while I was required to remain in bed for weeks ... difficult for someone who is ADHD. I began a series of small paintings that I could manage while sitting up in bed. I used a "Ready For Recycle" 1884 "People's Cyclopedia of Universal Knowledge." It was wonderful to read about various inventors and inventions, long outdated, with the inventor still alive at the time the encyclopedia went to press.. I saved many pages for friends in related industries -- the others became art, one subject at a time. The paper is not destined to last into the next century but the marriage of the old and the new... that was fun. One in a series of watercolor paintings on antique pages.
