This watercolor painting was started using a wet-into-wet process and a technique to create texture and flowing colors, suggesting Autumn and harvest time. The color of the grapes was determined by the colors that flowed across the paper. No drawing was done until the colors were dry and the painting defined itself. Layer after layer, leaves and grapes began to take shape. In the creation process, I drew from memories of walking the vineyards belonging to my husband's family.
