This Watercolor painting was started with a process of crumpled tissue, beautiful pigments of blue, green and burnt Sienna, followed by a wet-into-wet painting. Once dry, a second layer of color is applied wet-into-dry, building layer upon layers. To find the weaknesses,, I took the painting to a blueprint maker to scan and print a 17 x11 Copy. I saw immediately the dry leaves on the lower right were not folding correctly, and it needed more depth. In the end, the vibrant colors in a tranquil setting made for a work I doubt I can match, today. Art by Maria Hunt. Copyright protected.

She refined her skills in plein air painting by attending workshops across the U.S. The years left to get "really good" at art are diminishing, and her focus is laser sharp.
