Framed version of The Magic of Autumn by Maria Hunt
This Watercolor painting was started with a process of crumpled tissue, beautiful pigments of blue, green and burnt Sienna, followed by a wet-into-wet painting. Once dry, a second layer of color is applied wet-into-dry, building layer upon layers. On this large piece, my only solution to analyze the weaknesses, was to take it to a blueprint maker to scan and print a 17 x11 print. I saw immediately the dry leaves on the lower right were not folding correctly, and it needed more depth. In the end, the vibrant colors in a tranquil setting made for a work I doubt I can match, today. Art by Maria Hunt. Copyright protected.
