Our Wednesday Morning Art With The Girls class had, as an objective, painting tulips. The hostess had received this beautiful bouquet. First, I had them draw the image, Before the demo, they pointed out that I had not drawn an image.. So, I misted the paper and drew the image with a brush and watercolor,, demonstrating the painting techniques, as I created this painting, sans pencil marks. The following week, we had to decide where to take the painting to the next level. I offered several solutions: one was pen and ink and the second, to add a deeper colored background to bring out the more vibrant colors. I elected to demonstrate creating a background.. a dark background. ...This painting is the result. Each student had stunning results with "softer-than-Indigo" backgrounds, or using Pen and Ink. THIS was one of those classes where magic happens, and we all just laughed and enjoyed the results. This Original is 9 x 13
