Stewie Visits the Dog Park
Artist

Medium
Painting - Acrylic On Metal Boxes
Description
As part of a Public Art Project in La Quinta California, I was commissioned to convert the drab utility boxes beside the Dog Park into Art for the Public. Each side had to coordinate with adjacent sides and the smaller utility box with the larger Traffic Signal Box. The palette needed to be light in tone so as not to draw too much heat of the metal to avoid frying the computer inside. Stewie poses alone on the smaller box and joins a Boston, a Boston Terrier on the larger metal canvas.

Thank you, I felt honored to have been awarded the commission. It was so very fun to create these paintings. Hard to do in the Desert when the sun bakes the metal boxes. Most painting is done very early in the morning..

Thank you, Janice. Genevieve Essen,( Lyrical Trees,) did a fantastic one on her FAA portrait. It makes sense to raise the visibility of Public Art and the idea of turning these Symbols of Technology into entertaining works of art is catching on. Thank you for your lovely comment and your visit. __ go check out Genevieve's

This looks like so much fun. You really brightened up those ugly boxes with great art, humor, and wit.
