The Isle of Iona off Scotland, (Lower Left corner) was the first toe hold of Christianity in Scotland. The merging of the Celts into the religion resulted in this iconic cross... the symbol of God's love and strength brought to the people of Scotland. The book of Kells was created using the artist skills of the Celts and their intricate knots, and the Latin text created by the monks. After murderous raids by the Vikings, then treasured book was taken to Trinity College in Dublin, where it resides today.
This painting weaves together elements of the feeding of the multitude the Loaves (Wheat Fields) and Fishes, drawn with Celtic knots.
