Artist's Description
With over 300 "row" crops and 4 or 5 planting seasons a year, the Coachella Valley (Palm Springs area) has become the prime producer for vegetables in the U.S.A.Painted from a photo by THE remarkable Ms Porter. The Cabbage in the field held the light of the sunrise. The natural colors of the plant are pretty much as you see them here. I painted it in an enlarged format (24x36) . Framed in simple pewter, it sings. I loved the veins in the leaves. God had fun creating this one -- must have gotten bored with plain green and had a yen to play with magenta.
