The image is near the edges of the product but doesn't cover the entire product. Some of the background color may appear around the outside edges of the image.
Our spiral notebooks are 6" x 8" in size and include 120 pages which are lined on both sides. The artwork is printed on the front cover which is made of thick paper stock, and the back cover is medium gray in color. The inside of the back cover includes a pocket for storing extra paper and pens.

In a drawing course, the instructor gave the homework assignment of drawing a white egg on a white background. At critique time we all pinned our works to the wall and were asked to discuss the difficulties we experienced. After a few were called on, I raised my hand... I couldn't work out how to make one egg interesting and had drawn 3 eggs to make a better composition... She said "I did say ONE Egg, class... Maria's is the one with THREE." and rolled her eyes. (EMMbarrassing) I explained my difficulty with getting sufficient contrast from vine charcoal.. and we moved on to the next problem. everyone had the same miserable results. That night, I placed a single egg on a white paper and set up the lighting to get an elongated shadow to make it interesting.. and titled it "One Egg Only" and turned it in the next day. Problem solved.. I liked my solution. Having time to think of this solution, this image addresses, I think, the idea of Zen in art, as stated by Masunaga Reiho,...
