Artist's Description
Recently, I was ill for several weeks. I began a series of small paintings that I could manage while sitting up in bed. I used a "Ready For Recycle" 1884 "People's Cyclopedia of Universal Knowledge." It was wonderful to read about the modern farming equipment: horse-drawn plows, and the radical new steam engine-driven harvester.. That page I saved-- . the others became art, one subject at a time.
