Description
I spent a morning up in Joshua Tree National Monument in the North Western corner of the Sonoran Desert, 150 miles East of Los Angeles. I enjoy painting the subtle colors found in the rocks, mountains and plants of our high desert. My plein air paintings require so much work once I get back to the studio. However, this one was just a peaceful exercise, start to finish. The colors in the original are a tad more subtle but no less beautiful. I have completed a 36"x48" in oil of this smaller, more intimate painting.
