Preparing for a solo exhibit, I created 50 paintings, choosing from the 300 row crops grown in the Coachella Valley. I set up a Still life of the Flame table grapes on the granite-topped island, with a beautiful reflection in the granite, As I painted the grapes on the counter, the still life didn't "match" the image on my canvas .... then my wonderful husband passed by, picking a few more grapes off the top of the bunch as he rounded the island. ... "Darling, can you pick from the back toward the bottom? I'm painting the front, only" So well a few gaps here and there, but you'll know why and smile. ..
There was a tiny cluster of "would be" grapes, snuggled inside the bunch.. it was perfectly formed. I placed the dried remnants in the right corner of the painting (remembering those who don't make it to the "Finish line") The grapes are on a 10x10x1.5" Linen Gallery Wrap.

She spends one week a month teaching art to Children (and older versions of children) She...
