Description
Exploring darker backgrounds, I created a simple still life with a Granny Smith apple, Cherries and Extreme lighting for a class I was teaching. After the fruit was painted, the students wanted to see the impact of a dark background.. this is the quickly painted demonstration piece, done in 3 steps, drawing, adding color.. This painting dried as they painted their work.. the color of the background was selected by the students after having a brief discussion on reasons for each of the various color choices they could consider.
