Donated to Heartbeat at 22 (Mama's House) this, and a 2nd of my paintings. raised $550 at the annual fundraiser, for the care of the women in crisis pregnancies, living at "Mama's House". To learn more, visit "themamashouse.org" About the painting: Early in the morning, I drove from our mountain side home to paint, en plein air, this Easter's sunrise. The day before, I had driven to the area and sketched in the composition without the colors. In the pre-dawn hour, I drove back, set up the easel in the exact spot and began painting. A photo was taken for reference to colors. The most important colors were the sky and the beautiful clouds , glowing in sunlight,, with the sun just beginning to stream through the mountains. The mountains were in silhouette with a few outcroppings catching color. In winter, the earth sleeps and in Spring, there is rebirth, new beginnings... a gift from the Risen Christ,
