Desert Verbena

Medium
Painting - Watercolor
Description
A watercolor painting of Desert Verbena. This scene is fast disappearing due to the pervasive spread of "Sahara Mustard plant" which poisons the ground beneath it, preventing dormant Verbena seeds from growing. Wild Verbena with White Jimpson Weed (Datura stramonium) is a beautiful combination on our desert floor.

Maria, Fine Art here and great use of color! I see a lobster in the left foreground and a bear cub in the center foreground.......but, then, I see them everywhere! Jerome

Tony, we used to have miles of verbena cascading down dunes of sand and white Jimpsom weed growing here and there... the invasion of the Saharan Mustard weed poisons the ground to prevent anything but its offspring to grow.
