Another in the series of paintings on antique pages from an 1884 "Cyclopedia of Universal Knowledge". Recently, I was ill for several weeks. I began a series of small paintings that I could manage while sitting up in bed. I used a "Ready For Recycle" 1884 "People's Cyclopedia of Universal Knowledge." It was wonderful to read about the modern farming equipment: horse-drawn plows, and the radical new steam engine-driven harvester.. Those pages I saved for a friend-- . the others became art, one subject at a time. The paper is not destined to last into the next century but the marriage of the old and the new... that was fun.
