This work won 1st place in the Riverside County International Date Festival (near Palm Springs, California. It was early in my painting journey and I have entered few contests since. The other Best of Show a few years later but I have not put it on FAA.
This is one of my larger watercolor paintings. While walking through a vineyard, I managed to get a photograph with the sun pouring through the vines and setting some of the Chardonnay grapes aglow. I loved the red ties holding the canes in place so I put them in. It has a companion piece that is lower on the vines, called "Chardonnay in Shadow"
